Mr Almallah provides detailed overview on treatment for Urinary incontinence following prostate cancer treatment (post- prostatectomy) at British Association of Urological Surgeons Conference

Mr Almallah was invited to speak about his experience at the prestigious British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) conference in Manchester which was held 21st- 24th June 2010.

The annual conference was attended by internationally renowned Urology experts allowing attendees of the conference the opportunity to share best practice and be kept up- to date with developments in Urology.

The educational section covering functional urology, chaired by Professor Tony Mundy included discussion around the complex area of post-prostatectomy incontinence. Mr Almallah provided his peers with a detailed overview of the various treatment options available for male patients who have been left incontinence following surgery to remove the prostate due to cancer.

Mr Almallah discussed the cultural change that has occurred in the management of patients now suffering with post-prostatectomy incontinence and gave a detailed overview during the session on the various treatment options now available for such patients.

The treatment options which Mr Almallah informed his peers about included:
• Artificial Urinary Sphincters, including details about recent modifications made to the devise
• Bulking agents
• Male Slings

The British Association of Urological Surgeons conference for 2011 will be held at the BT Convention Centre at the ACC in Liverpool.
